The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Dr. Uzziel Ndagijimana has promised to build on the achievements of his predecessor to drive forward the Ministry’s mandate.
“I intend to continue the good work by my predecessor Minister Claver Gatete in championing socio-economic development of Rwandans. Given the task ahead, continued cooperation, collaboration hard work from everyone at the Ministry will be essential in delivering on our mandate,” Minister Ndagijimana said at the handover ceremony.
On his part, the Minister of Infrastructure thanked the management team at the Ministry of Finance for their unreserved support during his tenure as the Finance Minister.
“I wish to thank the Minister of Finance and the entire staff of the Ministry for the close collaboration we’ve had during my time here. He has been part and parcel of the achievements we have registered. We will continue to cooperate and collaborate to serve the interest of our country,” He said. Minister Gatete has been at the helm of the Ministry of Finance for the past five years.
The Minister of State in charge of economic development Dr. Claudine Uwera said she plans to follow in the footsteps of his predecessor but also introduce innovation. “I will continue to build on my predecessor’s achievements but also bring in innovative approaches in planning,” Minister Uwera said.
