The unit is headed by the EDPRS Coordinator. This unit of MINECOFIN/NDPR is responsible for the development of the EDPRS and subsequent medium-term plans and also, all arrangements for monitoring their progress. The EDPRS Secretariat also oversees the development and implementation of all monitoring tools and instruments, such as the EDPRS Results and Policy Matrix  that contains key monitoring  indicators, output or policy actions. This Unit is responsible for the preparation of EDPRS BI-Annual and Annual Implementation reports .

At the beginning of each financial year, the EDPRS Secretariat, also  ascertain policy, programme or project priorities for evaluation emanating from its monitoring activities. The EDPRS Secretariat operates through the following modalities:

1. Sector Working Groups (SWGs) – Central Level ( through Forward and Back- Ward Joint Sector Review Meetings and Joint Budget Sector  Review Meetings
2. Provincial Technical Team – Provincial Level
3. Joint Action Development Forum – District Level
