Key functions of the unit :
- Preparation of progress reports on status of implementation of the Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Strategy (EDPRS).
- Providing technical assistance and guidance to the elaboration and design of planning instruments and tools in the Sectors and Districts
- Ensuring that the planning function in both central and local government is aligned to national priorities
- Ensuring that the planning and monitoring and evaluation functions inform the budgeting process.
- Assist Monitoring & Evaluation staff in line ministries and Districts to maintain their M&E system.
- Strengthening the evidence base for decision making.
- Analyzing the trends and determinants of poverty in Rwanda.
- Follow up on surveys and studies.
- In collaboration with Statistics Institutions, High Learning Institutions and think tanks conduct research to inform policy making .
- Ensure that cross-cutting issues (Gender, environment, social inclusion, HIV/AIDS) are properly addressed in M&E Frameworks and policy review at sector and district levels.
